Celebrating Women’s History Month

Dear Colleagues,

March is Women’s History Month, a time when we recognize and celebrate the many important contributions women have made throughout history.

This observance has a special meaning here at VNS Health, an organization built on the strength and vision of women leaders, beginning with our founder, Lillian Wald. Thanks in no small part to this remarkable vision, New Yorkers have benefited from home- and community-based health care for more than 130 years.

Over the decades, women have made up the majority of VNS Health’s workforce. In addition to providing the care individuals need to live their best lives in their homes and communities, women have led virtually every part of our organization, spearheading countless innovations that have helped shape and improve the ways we provide care and VNS Health itself. The truth is, VNS Health would not be the vital organization it is today if not for the amazing contributions of women.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we’ve put together a collection of archival photos showing women team members in a variety of roles at VNS Health during the early part of last century. To see this slideshow, please click here.

Thank you all, and Happy Women’s History Month!
