Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander Month!

Dear Colleagues,

May is a wonderful month in so many ways at VNS Health. Not only is it Nurses Month and Speech-Language-Hearing Month, but it’s also Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month — a time when we celebrate the many important and invaluable contributions that have been made — and continue to be made — by people of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. That includes the great work being done by our own Asian American and Pacific Islander team members to support our patients, members and clients.

I’d also like to take a moment to honor VNS Health’s close and longstanding connection with New York’s Asian American/Pacific Islander communities. For example, we’ve been serving thousands of Chinatown seniors through our Chinatown Community Center since 1999 and our Chinatown NNORC since 2006. Our two newest community centers have also become a vital resource to Asian communities in Flushing, Queens and Sunset Park, Brooklyn. In addition, every day we help Asian American and Pacific Islander patients, members and clients across New York live their best lives in their homes and communities, where they want to be.
