Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dear Colleagues,
This Monday, January 20th, we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day—the national holiday that honors Dr. King’s life and his leadership in advancing and protecting Americans’ civil rights.
Dr. King, who was only 39 years old when he died, dedicated his life to serving others. Whatever challenges he faced in his nonviolent struggle for civil rights, and whatever injustices he was fighting against, he always acted on the principle that our true calling as human beings is to serve a cause greater than ourselves.
As we salute Dr. King and his legacy, I want to thank all of you as well for everything you’re doing, day in and day out, to make a difference in the lives of our patients, members and clients. Making a difference in people’s lives is at the core of our mission. Your dedicated efforts are helping to make our communities stronger and more resilient, just as Dr. King did, and the world is a better place for it.
