Important Message Regarding the Governmental Transition

January 31, 2025
Dear Colleagues,
As everyone knows, earlier this month we saw the transition of government, from one U.S. President to another. This change at the national level is bringing with it proposed and actual changes to policies and processes that may well impact us, the people we serve, and the work we do.
As I write this, the level of unknowns is very high. What is known is that VNS Health has been here for more than 130 years, and we have weathered many challenges over the decades. Our organization will continue to rely on our three Core Values of Empathy, Integrity and Agility, and we will remain committed to our 3-Year Strategic Plan.
As always, we will be transparent to you in both what we are learning about government policy and what it means for us and our organization. Today, we must all continue to focus on delivering ever-improving quality in the care we provide, and in the patient, member and client experience we deliver. The success of our mission and vision relies on our collective focus and commitment.
As a reminder, our vision is to provide and manage care for millions of individuals with complex needs in a way that is different from the rest. We will meet people where they are. We will walk with them throughout their healthcare journey, simplifying and improving their experience. We will enable them to live their best lives in their homes and communities, where they belong. With our vision as our North Star, we will be at the front of the line in advocating for those whom we serve as budgets and policy recommendations unfold.
Equally important is our commitment to each of you. You are the heart of VNS Health, and we recognize that the changes we’ve been seeing and reading about may be impacting some of you personally. We will do everything we can to ensure your well-being, fair treatment, and continued professional growth. This includes maintaining open communication and offering resources such as the Member Assistance Program (for 1199 team members) or the Employee Assistance Program (for non-union team members) to support you.
Thank you for the dedication and compassion you bring to those we serve and to one another every day. You make a profound difference in the lives of so many, and I am deeply grateful to have you as part of the VNS Health family.
