Important: Update on the Storm and Traveling

February 22, 2026

Dear Team,

While we can’t control the weather, we can – and will – keep you updated throughout the storm.

Due to the blizzard, New York City has just enacted a state of emergency that includes a citywide travel ban. This travel ban begins at 9:00 p.m. tonight, Sunday, and lasts through 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, Monday. The ban is intended to keep streets and roads clear for emergency vehicles and essential services.

Home Health Aides are considered essential health care workers and, as such, you are exempt from this travel ban while you are performing job duties. The care you provide is critical to keeping our patients safe at home, especially during severe weather.

Subways and other public transportation will continue to operate on a modified schedule during this time. Please allow extra travel time and check for service updates before you leave to go into the storm.

If you are currently with your client and are considering staying overnight in your client’s home due to the poor weather conditions, please notify your supervisor so we can track your time appropriately and support you as needed.

Please use extra caution when traveling and dress appropriately for winter conditions. If you are unable to safely report to a scheduled visit, notify your supervisor as soon as possible so we can make appropriate arrangements.

Thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to our patients.

Please stay safe! Your safety remains our top priority!
