Message from the CEO on Recent Events

June 28, 2022

Dear Colleagues,

The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade has generated a large-scale public debate. People on both sides of the issue have strong, passionate feelings. One of our tenets at VNS Health is to show one another, and the people we serve, courtesy and respect. No matter your feelings on this decision, each of us has the responsibility to be respectful of each other.

At VNS Health, we are committed to helping people live, age, and heal where they feel most comfortable, in their home, connected to their community. Our promise to the people we serve is to help them live their best lives possible, and each of you contributes to that promise in so many ways. That commitment and promise extend to all of you who are part of VNS Health.

If you are distressed by recent events and need an outlet for your feelings, whatever they may be, or simply need a person to listen to what you have to say, free, confidential counseling services are available through the 1199 union’s Member Assistance Program. To talk to a counselor, call 646-473-6900. For more information about the program, visit the 1199 website by clicking here. And to learn more about other 1199 support programs, click here. Further, we want everyone to know that there is no change to the health benefits you can access as a team member at VNS Health.
