Reaching Out

Dear Colleagues:

The horror in the Middle East brings us deep sadness and, for so many of us, a feeling of despair. Terrorism in any form violates our core values, and the loss of life in this escalating conflict is tragic.

In different ways, all of us are experiencing this crisis as we think about the safety of people in the region. The events in Israel and Gaza over the past six days touch all of us, some who have family and friends in harm’s way and others of us who may not have direct ties to the region but care deeply about humanity. In fact, we read and see far too many times instances of violent conflicts caused by people, a gruesome reminder of the human implications of terrorism and war.

At VNS Health, we pride ourselves on employing people from many different cultures and backgrounds. We strive to recognize our differences and work together to help the people we serve live their best lives possible. The work we do daily seeks to bring peace of mind to patients, members, clients and families. Our hope is that peace can be achieved quickly in the Middle East, ending the death and destruction devastating to all.

As we think about what we can do, I encourage us all to check in with each other, and to offer support and reinforce the strong bonds of our VNS Health community. For those who desire it, confidential counseling services are available through our EAP.

Please pay close attention to the email and text communications provided by our Safety and Security team about demonstrations in our area.  And please remain safe.

Sincerely,

Dan
