Thank You for Once Again Stepping Up, Even In a Record-Breaking Storm

September 30, 2023

Dear Colleagues,

Good morning.  I am quite sure none of us need reminding that yesterday’s rainfall in New York was record-breaking, with flash-flooding throughout our area and a state of emergency declared by the city’s Mayor and Governor Hochul. The weather conditions often impact our teams as they do their critical work, and yesterday put so many of you to the test once again.

I am extremely grateful to all you for braving the storm and delivering the care to the people we serve. Front-line clinicians, home health aides and business staff stepped up once again and did what we are known for – meeting people where they are and providing them much needed services. Most importantly, our patients, members and clients, as well as their families, are profoundly thankful that you were there for them.

No doubt yesterday’s challenges are today’s problems, as homes, offices, subway stations and roads were flooded, and only now are we seeing water levels recede. For those of you personally impacted, please know that we recognize the many difficulties you will face, and we will all do our very best to be helpful and supportive.

Sunday is predicted to be a beautiful day in New York and my hope is that the nice weather will bring a smile to us all.

Thank you all so very much.
