Thoughts on Yesterday’s Election

Dear Colleagues,

Just as I encouraged us all to vote in my email last week, so do I today encourage us all to recognize that millions of Americans voted and, in almost all cases, the decisions are in. It is now time for all of us to turn our attention to the future, and for VNS Health, that means continuing to do the work we do every day to help the most vulnerable New Yorkers.

The people we serve rely on us to help them live their best lives possible. Every day, we pull together to focus on our Vision:

We will provide and manage care for millions of individuals with complex needs in a way that is different from the rest.

  • We will meet people where they are…
  • We will walk with them throughout their healthcare journey, simplifying and improving their experience…
  • We will enable them live their best lives in their homes and communities, where they belong

We do this work guided by our Core Values: Integrity, Agility and Empathy. Each of us believes it is vital to do the right thing even when no one is looking. We all use experience and creativity to move quickly. And perhaps most importantly – today and always – we always seek to understand other’s feelings and experience in order to actively help.

Let’s lean into being empathetic towards one another as each of us views yesterday’s election results through our own lens. And let’s continue to do the complicated – but very rewarding – work we do every day.

Thank you all.

Dan
