Training Opportunity: How to Become a “Dementia Care At Home” Program Certified HHA

Want to enhance your skills and learn how to care for dementia patients? We’re offering free dementia training to become part of our “Dementia Care At Home” program. HHA team members who complete the training become specialized in caring for clients with dementia. You will learn about the dementia symptoms to look for and how to address these symptoms with compassion and empathy.

Once you complete the one day of required training, you will be eligible to take on clients who are part of this special dementia program. Client cases are located throughout all five New York City boroughs, plus Long Island and Westchester.

“Dementia Care At Home” Program Training Details:

  • What do I need to do for the training? HHAs must complete one full day of training to become certified to take on clients in the Program.
  • When is the training? The next training day will be held in February 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is an in-person training at our 5 Penn Plaza office, 12th Floor, in Manhattan. Additional training opportunities will be held every other month throughout the year.
  • Will I get paid for the training? Yes! All HHAs who take the training will be paid for their time from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Do I get anything at the end of the training class? Yes! You will receive a certificate that shows you completed the training and are now a “Dementia Care At Home” program certified HHA.
  • Is the training offered in different languages? The training for this specialized program is currently offered in English only.
